@GeePawHill I’ve forgotten the details, but I remember someone relating that someone they knew thought a particular book was so evil that they threw it in the river. The person telling the story then went out and bought another copy, soaked it in water, and put it on the shelf where the other copy had been. I guess that really freaked out the other person and reinforced their opinion that the book was evil.

Reminiscent of the 1970s when gas prices started going over $1.00/gallon and the pumps couldn't handle that.

I think it's bullshit that "this research proves that aggressively removing every last trace of sugar from your meals carries its own risks." I gave up sucrose in particular, and sweets in general, 50 years ago and it's worked well for me. The biggest problems have been uncomfortable social interactions where the common interactions have been structured around sugar consumption.

This article doesn't mention the cap on income subject to paying FICA. The whole system is supported by the contributions of the bottom of the economic scale.
