@inthehands Another thing about being wrong is it’s also a lot easier to do
The quote is from the full (i.e. audio, not just web text) verison of this classic 99% Invisble episode: https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/episode-52-galloping-gertie/
@gdinwiddie @jawnsy
Presumably the reason you posted it, but just in case: the episode opens with remarks from Schulz.
@inthehands There was a similar insight in Kathryn Schulz's TED talk, "On being wrong"
@jawnsy @inthehands
I highly recommend her book of the same title.
@hanscees
Note that, per Karl Popper, you can •never• know you’re correct with complete certainty. The original quote thus holds true regardless of peronal attitude.
@inthehands unless you built in a scientific mindset and always consider uncertainty
@inthehands The thing about feeling maybe I’m wrong is that before you certainly know you’re not wrong, it doesn’t feel like being right.
