@lin11c @benroyce That hugely depends on what shape or form said "help" has. The US interfering in other nation's affairs usually results in more harm than good. Also, a coup d'รฉtat might sound like a logical thing to do, but often times leaves a power vacuum, which is then filled by an even more violent group of people who cease the opportunity to step in. So, whatever help it is, it has to be empowerment, not overpowerment.

That's the huge problem. "Give a man a fish" thing. They were expected to leave some day. But that day should have been a day where they could leave in good conscience.

Trump has been president for two years. The US has been there way longer. And they didn't manage to stabilize the country significantly. They just held everything at bay until they left. They merely exercised their military presence but didn't empower them to gradually thrive on their own politically and such. When was this day meant to come, hadn't it been forced to come sooner?

One could just migrate from Twitter/X to Mastodon wearing blinders and it just works. Sure, having an understanding of the Fediverse is always welcome, yet not required.
