@kingrat @Andres4NY am I weird that I just leave it all on? Like I don't really want to work on a team that's still using $OldAndUncommon but if the right job came along and that was part of the job it'd be fine. That section of the resume is getting long but I just shorten the older jobs more and more.

It had intro courses that had to be done before “applying” for the major. There was an event to “welcome” the new CS majors who passed. There were maybe 50-60 of us and maybe 5 women in the room. They appear to have some version of this system still in place checking their website.

@emilygorcenski I can’t even make a joke. It is just so tiresome how little grace or care folks are willing to grant to the other folk around them when we are all fundamentally going to make mistakes small and large and that’s okay. We can’t fix any of the horrors of the world constantly tearing down. :/

@webbureaucrat @kensanata (a) those forms are actually hard to get families to do for a variety of reasons including embarrassment, literacy, being busy & losing/forgetting, being afraid of the immigration police, etc. (b) even when students get free / reduced lunch it’s often a thing that marks the kid and can feel degrading. I was a free lunch kid. It made me feel bad about myself for no good reason.

We should have free food for all kids. It’s easier & no forms or degradation require.
