   In my view, the proper term for that kind of BS from a department is “giving up.”

     @lapt0r @mekkaokereke @jonathanpeterson @lesley @inthehands I graduated from the university of arizona (tucson) in 2001 with a CS degree. It had intro courses that had to be done before “applying” for the major. There was an event to “welcome” the new CS majors who passed. There were maybe 50-60 of us and maybe 5 women in the room. They appear to have some version of this system still in place checking their website.
