@Life_is ich denke 1 würde eher die betreiber*innen verfolgen. vllt auch garnicht mal direkt. aber wäre dann vllt ein schöner grund für ne hausdurchsuchung bei unliebsamen personen hier und da. wie bei indymedia. und nutzung per tor wäre dann wohl einfach der untergrund. raus aus dem großen diskurs. und dann ists auch fast egal ob 1 anonym seine meinung sagen kann oder nicht.

@taak soziale netzwerke sind schon ein ziemlich wesentlicher teil des zeitgenössischen internets. und natürlich kann ich altersverifikation auch von den betreiber*innen der einzelnen masto-instanzen fordern. die probleme mit der umsetzung haben werden. was teil meines punktes ist.

abgesehen davon: altersverifikation ist schon ok, weil es potenziell noch lücken gibt? oder wie darf ich dich verstehen?

es ist einfach unglaublich praktisch, wie dieser vorschlag sowohl die anonymität im internet als auch plattformen abschaffen würde, die nicht durch big tech betrieben werden.

@dalias i mean, yes, this would be one, fairly generous, interpretation of the abstract. what i rather see is highly anthropomorphizing language, starting in the title “[…] Reveal Internal Conflict in Frontier Models”. so i very much think these people indeed ascribe these “multi-morbid synthetic psychopatholog[ies]” to the models themselves and not to their makers. and i think its bonkers, because they “argue that these responses go beyond role-play”.

@dalias they got fooled into thinking that there are psychological states of mind behind the words. they made psychological assessments of some pareidolia and published a paper (or at least an abstract to a paper) talking about them as humans.

@dalias @leyrer i don‘t think its a „scam“ per se. its a scientific program like lakatos understood it. with the core assumption being: intelligence is computable. it doesn‘t matter if that assumption really holds, as long as the program produces knowledge. and it has: ocr, lisp, sql, just to name a few.
