Some are curious about my age because of my recent birthday. As an older woman you must understand I'm a bit reticent to share that information. But, what the Hell, I trust you all. 😊

2023 was a big year for me. Very big. Coming out as transgender. Beginning HRT. Having my orchiectomy.

2024 will be big, too. My divorce is final on day one, January 1st. After the remaining financial ties are untangled and separated, I can legally change my name.

And by the end of the new year, hopefully the U.S. government won't fall to the Nazis who want to murder me and my people.

Should be interesting times.

My friend Gemma rescued two dogs, now named Carmelo and Brick, cruelly tied up and abandoned in Burlingame, California. And she's asking for help.

The animal shelter is unable to keep them or adopt them out because both animals have a tremendous fear of humans and need re-training before being placed in homes.

But training and caring for them costs money. And if there's not enough soon, both dogs will have to be put down.

I answered, "Boobs."

You know, just in case you were wondering about my priorities. 🤣

@roadriverrail @Terra And those voices hurt because you really are trans. If anything, that doubt is confirmation. And, yeah, it's so weird that it works that way.

BTW (and I'm sure you already know this), HRT is not required to be trans. Speech therapy is not required to be trans. Knowledge of how to dress, apply makeup, etc. is not required to be trans.

When you admit to yourself that you're trans then that's all it takes. 💖

It's a conversation I've had with myself lying awake in bed more than once. Way more than once, sadly.

I joked with my therapist once that it seems like all of us do this to ourselves. She shrugged and said, "Well, that sounds normal then."

Anyway, you're right. It doesn't really matter. I like myself as a woman much than a sad old man.

I'm a little sad today. Not just for remembering the passing of Steve Jobs. But after almost a year of being here, I'm finally having to block trolls on Mastodon. Dammit.

These assholes should realize that I spent a decade working for Steve. So, this girl doesn't get intimidated.
