@futurebird For some grades, it might be best to teach algorithms using physical models. It's one of my favorite examples, that a library index is a hash table. It's just more down-to-Earth than the numeric version.

@evan In general, I would like to see extensibility for profile properties, so that we can present more metadata on our profiles. There may be valid counter-arguments - I haven't researched that thoroughly.

@evan IDK for sure - but Mastodon invites subject changes because of how replies get presented, because it does not use threaded display, which is also a feature that birdsite „tacked on“ rather shoddily, which is why threads on birdsite aren‘t always „threaded“ right away. I guess it must have been a background task.

Socially, I have dialectic opinions on this one. „It‘s okay sometimes“. Not „rarely“ when doing politics or debate - for example.

@annika These should only be made for artistic use IMO, and stored in a clearly marked container. Please, please, please - I really would prefer to never be in this situation, of having to judge a fake danger like that.

@baldur Many programmers aren't serious about programming either. Only an idealist would code well without reaping the benefits - because the industry is being as lazy about quality as possible. It's simply a culture that we established.

@sofia I think that all ideologies turn into nonsense when applied in isolation. Even anarchism has a tendency to seek order - which is why anarcho-communism exists. Granted - "individualism" and "collectivism" are particularly generic, so I suppose that they have to make less sense.
