> xiaomis are cheaper than iphones bro i have a poco phone and i wanna slice my wrists open, pull my veins and hang myself with them. Good hardware but piss poor community support and Xiaomi software and firmware are poo-tier frequently too. I wanna get either an iphony or a motorola (that one that flips and is affordable is kino)
I don't complain because my HW just works with Linux, essentially the same as if it had Windows, aside from the speakers not having the tuned Dolby audio driver (which i can sorta add with easyeffects). I do use da blobs though...

Johnny PeligroLinux as a modern desktop OS is fundamentally worse, because it's worse at doing the jobs an OS is supposed to do: run software that is actually useful to me and run the hardware I want to use. You must understand that the OS is a means to an end, not the goal in and of itself. Linux is currently worse at performing both of those tasks - largely for reasons that have nothing to do with Linux itself - but that is actually not practically relevant because it's worse anyway. Software support is worse because software devs don't care about making Linux versions of their programs and hardware support is worse because hardware makers similarly don't really care about supporting desktop Linux, though with hardware on some distros the whole "free software" philosophy also gets in the way.
@deprecated_ii@Relected the thing you mention is a xorg staple that i know is also added to gnome on wayland, but for me i have to manually highlight the text (as in, click anywhere in the text and drag), if i highlight the text by clicking quickly, it doesn't get copied.
