I hope everyone keeps in mind how things went down with the tariff brouhaha. Mexico and Canada “negotiated” and offered Trump peanuts to allow him to claim victory. My take on this is Jordan is offering to take in 2000 sick children, a tiny fraction of the over 2 million Gazan residents, and this is a very specific group that needs to be moved out of Gaza for medical care anyway. It would be nice if everyone could tell Trump to shove off, but they need to protect their people.

This is happening across the board, and there’s no indication they will be reformed (and if they were, would they be useful?) For example: “Members of the Aviation Security Advisory Committee received a memo Tuesday saying that the dept is eliminating the membership of all advisory committees as part of a ‘commitment to eliminating the misuse of resources…’”

Unfortunately I think it’s an automated thing, where the kamalaharrisforpresidentnews tag is included when you reply, which means it goes to everyone in the group. I’m hoping they follow through after the poll taken, and stop boosting all replies. People don’t need to see all this, but I know I’m often guilty of forgetting to untag others when I reply.

I guess lots of people are going to pretend the brutal slog of the 2020 primaries didn’t happen. There was no one candidate that satisfied everyone then, but Biden won. I can’t comprehend the magical thinking that there would suddenly be an easy switch 4 years later. He wasn’t my candidate in the primaries, but once he won, I knew we were all in for the 8 years. Unite, or fall to fascism, simple as that.

It gets tiring, doesn’t it? We go though this nonsense, decade after decade. I keep hoping people will figure it out, but so many are looking for easy answers. And every time, it gets harder to dig our way out this mess.

Absolutely. I’ve heard about Navratilova. She’s lesbian, but she’s also a TERF. It’s certainly disappointing, but unfortunately there are lots of examples of people all too eager to shut the door behind them.
