Any and all tax audits are completely invalid now, unless the IRS admits that corrupt politicians get preferential treatment. Put it in writing. #USPol
Bonus: I'll also be exhibiting some of my work (never been shown before!) related to Haitian history and Haiti's role in abolishing slavery in the Americas. So happy to finally be able to share these drawings, and to pair them with material my husband collected!
Just had a curator over, looking for materials for a #Haitian Flag day exhibit, and I was able to show her some appropriate and totally obscure achival documents from my late husband's collection. I must have missed this box when I was donating his papers 🤷🏽♀
I miss the days when 1099s arrived in the mail and I just stuck them in a folder. Instead tax time now is preceded by clicking numerous links, entering passwords or creating accounts, figuring out why this company I never worked for thinks that I did, oh it's that university's payment platform? why didn't the form say that, download a bunch of files, etc. Definitely not making my life simpler.
Woke up in a city in which #ZohranMamdani is my mayor 🤩 He's going to face a lot of opposition, but its good to know we have a mayor who supports the immigrant community instead of being eager to throw them under the bus when it suits him, who won't throw cops at every problem and defund all other services, and who won't fly through Turkey no matter where in the world he's going. #NYC#NYCmayor
@StillIRise1963 When they circulated the pet eating rumor, racists were so concerned about the cats & dogs, & they never bothered to wonder if people were so desperately hungry they'd eat anything.
My upcoming exhibition is soon! Please save the date if you're in the area, I'd love to see you at the opening. Bonus: King Manor is the best historic house museum in NYC 😀 (https://www.kingmanor.org/ for directions & venue info)
@NoFlexZone Don't remember if it was NPR or the local affiliate, but back in the beginning of the Affordable Care Act, they very consistently only covered it by referring to "the disastrous rollout" of the website. Repeated that negative framing day after day. Then they moved on without covering how many more people could access insurance. That's probably when I first noticed their conservative /corporate bias.
"This sidewalk always look like this!?" 🤦🏽♀️ Neighbors, please complain about all the trash people dump everywhere rather than a few biodegradable mulberries that stain the concrete for one month and then they're done for the year.
Year round, people park at the curb then empty all the trash from their cars right onto the tree pits. Most neighbors don't bother sweeping that up, but it's the mulberries people choose to complain about 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ Meanwhile, I've seen more species of birds in that tree than anywhere else in the neighborhood.
