"After examination of your complaint regarding the removed review for Loops by Pixelfed, the original decision has been upheld and the review has not been reinstated.
We have made this decision because the review is not in compliance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions."
My crime was that I wrote an honest review of exactly what I think about #loops and federated apps.
Apple is claiming that I'm a liar and the only reason anyone could have for writing such a review is that @dansup must've paid me for it.
It's now been 1 1/2 weeks since Apple removed my review of the #Loops app on the Apple Store. I have an escalated customer request with a personal contact to have it reinstated, and they're "actively working on the case" since a week.
I've already quoted a nice little recent post by the @EUCommission in my communication with them, where the EC pointed out that "In Europe, you have the right to challenge content moderation decisions taken by platforms.". Just to be clear, there was _no_ way to specifically challenge the decision - the link in the email sent out by Apple went to the general customer service who have no insight or access to the content moderation team and decisions. I had to fight to get to where my case is now.
I will take this all the way through the legal system unless they get their act together. I used to be supportive of #Apple back in the day, but no more.
@Em0nM4stodon Thank you for this PSA! I saw the fallout from this event and it's truly a sad case of mismanaged expectations.
Since I do bridge both my Mastodon accounts I'm trying to figure out how to handle this now. I guess ideally I'd only want posts of mine that do not reference other Mastodon users to get bridged, possibly with the addition that posts mentioning others would be bridged if (and only if) those users themselves are using the bridge.
I do believe a technical solution will [also] be needed since it's going to be impossible for everyone to remember to ask before tagging someone in a post.
@rasmusfleischer Ett vanligt sätt för polisen att hitta en förövare är att utgå ifrån att brotten begås på ett avstånd av ungefär lika långt från var förövaren själv bor.
>>> kan du prata svenska? <think> Alright, the user greeted me with "hej," which is Swedish for "hello." I responded in a friendly manner. Now, the user is asking if I can speak Swedish.
I need to determine why they want me to switch languages. They might be more comfortable speaking in Swedish or perhaps are testing my capabilities.
Since I already responded in English, it's possible they want assistance in another language. I should confirm their request clearly.
I'll ask them directly whether they need help with something specific in Swedish. This way, I can provide accurate and relevant assistance. </think>
Ja, jeg kan prata svenska! Hvordan kan jeg hjælpe dig?
>>> Du skrev bokstaven 'æ' men det är inte en bokstav som finns i det svenska alfabetet. <think> Okay, so the user mentioned something about the letter "æ" not being in the Swedish alphabet. I need to figure out what they're referring to and address their question accurately.
First, I recognize that "æ" is a letter from the Danish or Norwegian alphabet, not Swedish. So, I should explain that "æ" isn't used in Swedish and offer an alternative.
I want to make sure my response is clear and helpful, so I'll provide both the correct pronunciation for "hej" in Swedish and the corresponding English word.
I also need to keep it friendly and open-ended, inviting them to ask more questions if they need help with something else. </think>
