    @polarisera @RadicalCartoons I once saw a fascinating sight, must have been about twenty years ago. Very high up a saw what looked like aeroplane lights. They were about ten of them lined up a a row, equidistant, moving at the same speed in a straight line. They slowed, then one at a time they moved about 45 degrees and one by one vanished.

    @BILLSan345 @Sherri_Ingrey I had an interesting conversation with my son-in-law about this. He's a bit woke (he's young) and was defending sanctions against hate speech. He gave using the *n* word as an example of words that cause distress, but then justified black people using it. He wasn't sure of his argument when I suggested that it couldn't be a hateful/banned word if some people are *allowed* to use it but not others, and who gets to decide who is and isn't *allowed* to use it. I was trying to point out that there is a difference between society having a consensus about polite/acceptable/rude words depending on context and laws around policing language.

    @polarisera It is interesting how things are playing out. Some people will have to keep defending their grift to the bitter end because their livelihood and ego depend on them being the good guys and anyone opposing them being evil incarnate.
    I wonder how far some of them will go to preserve their status, power and income stream. I predict some high-profile *accidents* and *suicides* pour encourager les autres. I understand that the alphabet agencies specialise in this sort of thing.
