@steter @samlitzinger People do not revolt when they have college loans, mortgages, leases, car payments, credit card bills, kids in school, jobs, security clearances etc.
Ballot boxes are slow and usually bring only small incremental change if you’re lucky. They’re also designed to prevent massive changes quickly by not allowing a full house cleaning in one election, staggering terms etc.

People usually revolt when they have nothing else to lose.

He has attacked institution after institution that are recognized as respected and credible on the world stage and then tried to change their leadership by firing staff and installing a MAGA stooge.
He is only the President, not a king with absolute power.
Yet the American people just wring their hands and lament but don’t take any action.
I’d suspect there might be more outcry if the President wanted to fire a few basketball and football coaches.

@thomasfuchs Had one for many years. Those speakers had awesome sound (Harmon Kardon design I think). Replaced the display backlight driver board once, also upgraded and doubled the RAM. It took FOREVER to edit video and even longer to burn a DVD (a few hours!).

When you consider the number of people impacted by the fires in California, the value of property that is now in ashes, the cost of rebuilding coupled with Trump’s lack of concern and compassion, it would be an interesting challenge to the US banking system if most of those people just walked away from their mortgage payments.
What would that impact be?
