@jeffowski gotta love it when people who live in a shack out in the middle of nowhere earning pennies a day are being accused of committing fraud because they count every inch they do literal work at as their office by people bemoaning how unfair the system is.
@jeffowski Some humanist. "Oh, you're committing fraud against the IRS by counting your entire house as an office." Take your scare tactics bullshit off my screen.
@BlackAzizAnansi My sister and brother in law have forever changed how I look at them because of Covid. We were at my aunts funeral, who had died from covid right in the smack of the pandemic, and someone was mentioning that the local HS baseball team had come down with covid, and they both replied "Good." Good, because they couldn't wait till everyone got covid, and realized it was "just the flu." Said outloud, at my aunts funeral, next to her kids, when she died from covid.
@BlackAzizAnansi Like, I can't look at my sister as anything but a cultist at this point. She's ruined her entire image as someone knowledgeable or bright to me. I can't say enough how disappointing it is, at a core level. It's something she can never take back, I will always forever realize that my sister is kind of a fucking moron, you know?
And i love my sister a lot. We were close growing up. Trump did this to her. Once trump enter politics, she nose dived into fox news. And now here we are
@BlackAzizAnansi You want an example of how far gone my sister is now? The school year after lock down ended, she got her kids vaccinated for everything *EXCEPT* covid. Bragged about them getting their flu shots and shit.
My best friend has known her for 30 years. He called her out on it. "So wait, you got your kids a flu shot, because you were worried about them getting the flu? But not the covid vaccine, because it's harmless. But you say it's "just like the flu?" So... what?"
@atomicpoet@TomF I'm not talking about Trip Hawkins. I detest how much credit CEOs get over the actual people who made the stuff work. I'm talking about the REAL people behind the 3DO and such, the actual engineers, like RJ Mical, Dave Needle, etc. As in, the same people behind the Amiga, and later the same people behind the Nuon
Just like i think Jay Miner deserves way more recognition for what he did at Atari than anyone else, and just like I think Steve Wozniak deserves the credit for Apple
@atomicpoet@TomF I know about trip hawkins, but I honestly don't think he's that interesting. I find the engineers far more fascinating, because their works still live on today.
an aside MCC, but in this video, they talk about how they mapped out the distribution of the randomness of Mario World's pRNG. Would you have any reading on A) how to calculate such a distribution (and more specifically how long it'd take to loop) and B) how to create a pRNG with a specifically wide distribution? As in, I want to read more about how to better design a pRNG.
