@0xabad1dea One of my colleagues got a very obvious typo in a piece of AI-generated code (like a cat had gotten at the keyboard halfway through) followed by a comment stating what the code *should have been*. Wtf? ๐
@jeffowski I understand the point that this is aiming for... but, as a fan of dystopian horror & sci-fi, a bunch of these intersections make no sense. ๐ญ
@neil Like they do in other countries? I recently swapped my UK driving licence for a Spanish one & was pleasantly surprised to find that basic sight, hearing & motor function/response tests are mandatory & repeat every 10 years, dropping to every 5 years when you get older.
@goatsarah Had been feeling this the past couple of years living in the UK & was wondering if it was my own perspective on the country colouring my view of it (in the planning stages of moving back to the EU at the time, not physically out the door of the UK yet but very much mentally). Having moved recently, we're now shaking off the occasional tendancy to moan about it all being terrible "but what can you do? ๐คทโ๏ธ" (in our case, GTFO).
@BethanyBlack Yet they often refer to the UK or GB as England. The last time I was over, I was having to explain to people that I live in Scotland which is part of the UK/GB but NOT England. ๐
@BethanyBlack Also, there's a strong requirement to buy heartfelt gifts for everyone but equally strong discouragement to just ask them what they'd like because that would ruin the surprise (I can't put into words how much I hate surprises & the stress that goes along with both giving & receiving them).
@BethanyBlack But if people do ask, I then need to think up multiple options for heartfelt gifts for me (more stress) but apparently just telling people to buy me book vouchers that I will *really enjoy* isn't right because vouchers don't have the required amount of thought put into them. ๐คฏ
