'iotop' specifically looks at disk I/O. If something is constantly writing to your drive this will show it.

@tinker I've recently learned that while the panels are DC and the car is DC, you can't directly charge the car with the panels. Mostly because of the voltage difference, but also no one makes any thing to interface them.
AC charging is a double conversion (inversion?). Practical experiments by a friend have proven the loss is too great without a LOT of panels.

@bicmay Means Testing is just bureaucratic purity denial. It costs more to test everyone than it does to just let a tiny and theoretical fraction abuse the system.

1995 cars are still plastic junk, and they only have rudimentary computers (compared to now).
1985 cars are plain junk, because of post-oil crisis attempts at efficiency and lessons not yet learned.
1975 was the end of decent cars that were simply gas driven automobiles.
1965 was the start of any sort of broad safety engineering. Before this, cars were literal death traps.
