@mhoyeI when the superconducting thing was on the news a few months ago, I remember Twitter being full of "Has the EU banned the superconducter yet?" jokes by a bunch of "libertarian" tech bros. I spent more time on Masotodon just to avoid these sorts of dumbass tweets since there were more tech socialists here from Europe overall

If they're here now, I speculate that it's from the latest wave of migration from Twitter and they're now poisoning the space with their "line goes up" bullshit

@aral I swear I'm not trying to play devil's advocate here but I genuinely do want to understand the sentiment. Why is the name not inclusive? I understand it's named after the sex thing which I guess is a bit weird tbf, but as far as I know the act of being a gimp or dominating one is pretty gender neutral. So who exactly is it excluding?

@thor I had friends who did that as well. Some people do not really grasp poverty. I was complaining to my friend once about being poor and she replied with, "I just bought a flat and am €300,000 in debt and you don't have any dept at all so you're richer than me"
