@ryanhoulihan I can't believe I am about to defend the NY Times or its headline writers, but in this case it seems accurate. The subtext is that everyone else should be freaking out as well, but they are not.

I really don’t buy that this is an attempt to undercut the message. I’m not a scientist, but if it made a difference I wouldn’t care if the headline said that they were crying their sweet little baby eyes out over it.
