@goatsarah reminds me of the story of (I think it was the Leakeys? on a paleontological expedition) offering local residents (some amount, doesn’t matter, really; let’s say $1) per bone fragment they recovered. It wasn’t long before they discovered, to their horror, the locals smashing wonderful, large bones into smaller, much more lucrative ones. Incentives drive all human behaviour. @OutOnTheMoors
