#UnitedAirlines has started a pattern of forcing later boarding groups to check their carry ons at the gate despite having ample overhead space.

It’s so clearly a manufactured paper cut designed to incentivize seasoned flyers to pay up for priority boarding.

And they CHARGE for this supposed travel luxury. Ugh.

It’s our last night in #London. We’re not at a pub. We’re laying in our hotel room, exhausted, ordering delivery from Roti King.

@aral @anna we visited Makan Cafe yesterday as well and the Portobello market right outside was such a treat!

Nasi Padang off the buffet was absolutely perfect. Takes me right back to Singapore.

@skinnylatte my hotpot sauce of choice is cut chilies (I guess they're usually thai chili) in light soy sauce.

None of my friends get it but it's easily S tier chili sauce for me.

When they hit my calves it hurts so much I am literally on the verge of kicking them on pure instinct.

@aral @anna glad you were able to track it down (locally it seems?) and nice work on a first time prep! A lot of people make the mistake of making it a little too watery the first time.

Some options to make it fun:

1. Add a runny yolk fried egg
2. Chili crisps for extra heat
3. Green onions for a little veg freshness

@aral @anna since you mentioned, it’s not nearly the same thing at all but indomie’s mi goreng which can be found in most places reeeealllly hits the spot for Malaysian/Indonesian when the cravings come to wreck my day.

@aral @anna I’d imagine they’d maintain their streak of being around for a bit longer 😊. London’s malaysian food scene is entirely unlike the rest of Europe!

@anna @cendawanita @happydisciple @spacehobo @clanwilliam we stopped by London on our euro tour honeymoon nearly 8 years ago and I’m so glad to hear Roti King still exists and in the same hole in the wall location! We’re going to visit again soon and I’m saving ALL of these suggestions! (I’ll squeeze in a jacket potato meal somewhere in there 😉)

@rbellinger IME, Marketplace is roughly 50% less spammy/scammy than Craigslist 🤷.
