   @dalias @dev as a person who’s spouse owns a business with retail spaces, they must, by fire code, fail open. Also, this shit is a very delicate balance when the other side of that door is a busy street and you have toddlers in the space.

   It looks ridiculous at first blush, but as software people we should know that the devil is in the nuance.

   #UnitedAirlines has started a pattern of forcing later boarding groups to check their carry ons at the gate despite having ample overhead space.

   It’s so clearly a manufactured paper cut designed to incentivize seasoned flyers to pay up for priority boarding.

   And they CHARGE for this supposed travel luxury. Ugh.

   Whenever comms blackouts are deliberately imposed by governments it's always an attempt to cover up their crimes. Cover of darkness in the info space.

   It's one of the reasons why independent communication systems and media need to exist. Things which are hard to centrally shut down or jam. Things which are not convenient to set up, and not convenient for the ruling class to put down.
