Sometimes I see a bar with an ellipses near or at the top of my notifications list.

I assume that there was a notification that went away, like someone replied and then deleted before I saw it. But that's just a hunch. Is there an official explanation somewhere?

It starting to seem like conservative policies are intended to cause the kind of psychological insecurity that conditions people to seek out validation at any price. And then conservatives follow-up on that by providing validation at a very high price.

The one that really jumped out at me was that they were using a licensed couples therapist and she(iirc) told the GF to appease him instead of telling him to get a grip.

My sister's psychopathic ex has hired plenty of enabling therapists to bolster his image in court, but she's never had a therapist who was treating her tell her to roll over like that.

I didn't know google groups was still even around, it became so useless I stopped even trying.

The story of the DejaNews acquisition becoming whatever is left of google groups is a textbook example of Doctorow's enshittification theory.
