   Hadn't seen anything on the Jonah Hill misogynistic control texts to his surfer GF here. I went to the Bad Place for them.

   Relationships are complex places, so I'm def not trying to pigeonhole this one, but I think all women have experience with this type of controlling behavior & false blame. I think the below takes are important to internalize. You can't love yourself by making yourself smaller.

     The one that really jumped out at me was that they were using a licensed couples therapist and she(iirc) told the GF to appease him instead of telling him to get a grip.

     My sister's psychopathic ex has hired plenty of enabling therapists to bolster his image in court, but she's never had a therapist who was treating her tell her to roll over like that.

     That was exactly the part that jumped out at me as most damaging. I think that therapist needs to be reviewed & review her own biases. Unfortunately, sexism in couples therapy is as prevalent as sexism outside the therapist's office. I have found this a challenge in getting healthy treatment. It is something that begs for intensive education & training in all MSW, therapist, & psychiatric programs. I don't think they're getting it.
