๐ Thanks.
We recently set up as a cooperative to fundraise for server costs and more feature development on Guppe.
Since it's a co-op, those who contribute get to decide what features we build.

@darius
There was one time where I was villain of the day over @guppegroups.
It spiraled pretty quick to the point where a lot of what was being said wasn't remotely true, but in storm I did find that I'd made a mistake in coding that prevented deleted posts form being handled correctly and a mistake in judgement over post visibility, so I corrected both of those and then it was fine.
Of course it helped that Guppe is a consent-based, reactive service
@brandonscript @GrimmReality
They are a delicious substitute for the red-hot used in a traditional Chicago hot dog. Unlike other vegan sausages, these have a casing to give you that quintessential snap when bite in, and they're also basically all seitan/no filler, so higher protein and lower carbs than other brands
@sayyid_qishta thanks. can you tell me who's posting it?
@minecraftchest1 @feditips @punchescars
This is all possible. As a cooperative, all of the development decisions are made (and funded) by @guppegroups supporters

@activitypub we should consider this signing key / recovery key division as an addition to #ActivityPub ... could allow users to move accounts out of dead/hostile servers without requiring any changes to our current message signing scheme
Howdy! @LemmyDev
I'm trying to research Lemmy's current @activitypub federation. I found this docs page, but I think it is not current as it links to some since-closed issues about AP non-complicance.
https://join-lemmy.org/docs/en/federation/overview.html
Is there any updated doc that describes how Lemmy interacts with other platforms / what sorts of interactions are possible? (e.g. do replies appear as comments on Lemmy? Is is possible to start a new Post with a message from another platform?)
Thanks!

@evan no man, that's the attitude that's so frustrating about the previous search imolementors. Building something that conforms to community norms requires communication*before* you build.
We should be telling people, "if you think that, then spread the idea around and see what others think. See if you can find a group of people to help guide you"
@evan speaking of decentralization, I think a federated search, where each instance keeps its own index of its own content and the searcher can request results from many instances, could easily address my concerns about search and probably most others concerns, too
@evan
Lol. 'Free as in free puppies' is a great line, though. Gonna steal that
@evan @activitypub oh no I don't mean "pick it up" as in owning it. It's owned by my worker-owned cooperative and actively maintained via proceeds from our contract work. I mean "pick it up" as a tool for your project
@evan @activitypub
Awesome! Documentation is the weak point in this library at present, so, if you pick it up, feel free to hit me up with questions
Since there's an influx of fellow nerds getting ideas a about new @activitypub projects:
Did you know the @guppegroups server is <250 lines of code? That's because it's powered by activitypub-express, the modular ActivityPub implementation for NodeJS with 90% test coverage.

The response form your server? No that doesn't need a signature. We use http signature to verify the identity of the *requestor*
