well it would probably be a lot like the Archive of Our Own, which came out of the LJ debacle

and last time I checked that was still chugging along independently, consistently high-use despite its mess and governance issues

people I live in Oregon we don't have fluoride in the water, we get that from mouthwash and the dentist, it's fine

and I rarely wear sunscreen and the dermatologist says my skin is in amazing shape...because I don't like to apply any chemicals to myself when I don't absolutely have to, so I wear a big hat and long sleeves

@seachanger we absolutely WILL die if we don't get MMR vaccinations tho

and no I didn't give my kid autism by getting them vaccinated, fuck right off with that dehumanzing crap and learn to value and respect neurodivergent people

we get the satisfaction of mail-in ballots and consistently achieving the nation's highest voter turnout rates

after listening to ham radio operators doing disaster relief work in western NC this weekend, I'm thinking it would be a good idea to get licensed

but I live in a rural area, and the closest in-person classes are two hours away, on a night I've already got a standing commitment

and thinking about how my good dog protected me, over the years, from both bears and men

she faced down my violent ex-husband when he tried to kick in the door of my house

and a bear that tried to walk through our camp one night, up the Skok

and this makes me think that really what women need isn't an array of bad choices

it's to be supported so that we have the freedom and resources to be out in the world safely

also, dogs are pretty great
