it's very useful stuff

but at one point the monk is like, and if things go poorly for you at work, do not let it trouble you, today is not like the old days when you would have been expected to disembowel yourself

which was one of those oh shit! moments but also a really useful thing to keep in mind when I'm stressing about the job

which is what I was wondering, is could you just run down to the LBS or Freddies or something and get a seat post and pull all the weird shims and whatever out and just put something more normal on in there

@msbellows now that you've photographed the whole thing, have you pulled it apart, and if so, how does the seatpost look?

@msbellows well, I suppose that could happen

but it can't happen if you turn it upside down

@msbellows if it's got a rear rack, you might want to use a milk crate under that and then the handlebars should hold the front end up ok

or an actual repair stand

like, that's the best way to do it but I've never actually owned one myself so I know a lot of work-arounds involving pilfered dairy containers and swearing 🤣
