Yes, it is nonfactual because in both The Drive and the Yale blog post they are referring to a single study (N=1) from 3 years back, but The Drive is portraying these as in 2020 there was one research and now there is a new one. This is non-factual.

if you want to share, be realistic and post the pubmed/journal link(s). No clickbaity nonsense that is getting a free ride in the name of science!

Any type of pollution is bad obviously, but why abusing the name science for some nonsense clickbait? Why not be honest? Why not respecting science?

P.s: I could also say that that picture is also BS because it is showing ice particles and not microplastics, but by agenda is not smash the post, but rather asking to be honest and vigilant.

Nope, defending science from nonsense.

Science means peer reviewed research mostly with statistics. If we want to believe every blog post, then we should confidently accept that earth is flat, vaccines cause autism, 2pac is alive, and etc.

Let's be honest and vigilant about what we share.

Indeed it is a good thing to reduce such microplastics, but did you even consider clicking on the links in this "The Drive" website? Especially the link in "new research shared by Yale Environment 360 indicates that ..."???? There is no "new study"!! That yale is just a blog post, not a research.

As much as like to reduce such pollution, I hate it when fake news and misinformation is passed around in the name of science!

To be totally honest, it does not matter how uncomfortable others get. It is all about usefulness **or** enthusiasm.

I live in Finland where only 5.3 million people live. From pragmatic perspective, it would not be useful to learn Finnish if I'm going to move out to live my life elsewhere. Now add Finnish sign. It's not like English or C. Learning anything means time investment, and for the learner it should be justified through usefulness or enthusiasm.

Is this ASL or International Sign?

Some years back I was motivated to learn sign language, but then after some onlines searching I realized eben the British and American versions are different, let alone sign language for other languages!

I know there is IS which is aiming to somewhat bridge the gap, but I don't know how comprehensible it is to people who only know [A-Z]SLs.

P.s: even Esperanto has it's own sign language.

- every day I check my mastodon wall, I constantly see your posts about Bluesky
- you also very critical about Fediverse software especially Mastodon

Putting there three together, a none-hardcore Fedizen would be encouraged to try Bluesky and possibly migrate.

@mjd I don't know how much it fits your needs, but @FreeCAD checks all thosepoints and more, much much more.

From time to time while in the zone and using @libreoffice I do something and then I get shocked how smooth and trivial it works. It really is a great piece of software and it is truly a treasure on my computer. depending on the installation method, it might not look as polished as other office suites, but it is way smoother and superior :allthethings:

I only and only have 1 single wish: I wish #LibreOffice was natively supporting #Zotero for citation management. Now I rely on Zotero's plugin.
