We're seeing more interest, especially because of shenanigans of proprietary CADs are pulling on users. Hopefully this generation coming up is more savvy about such things and will request this type of awareness in the educational system.
@SrEstegosaurio If educators do this, it would be nice if they gave a obligatory heads-up about what proprietary vs #FLOSS is What 'vendor lock-in' and changing license/agreements means for future workflows. Gives the student the option of consent to the implications of investing their time in proprietary software.
A new #FEM/#FEA workbench/addon added to Addon Manager called #FEMbyGEN. Basically based on your spreadsheet parameters → creates an FC file → analyses generations → shows all results in a table. More details in the forum thread
The #FreeCAD community is constantly working on improving FreeCAD.
For example, 'chennes' has just tweaked the #OpenSCAD workbench to correctly handle union(); functionality. Changes are in the development version. Testers welcome!
From the 'why-we-love-opensource-communities' dept User 'matthiaswm' is offering to add a #FreeCAD QuickLook plugin for macOS that will be available to inspect FCStd files within Finder app.
