@alex@gleasonator.com It's so bizarre how Western idealogues won't use software or products solely because the creators have heretical beliefs or views. Liberalism in its contemporary form is more akin to a religion or cult than an actual sociopolitical ideology. It's almost reminiscent of early revolutionary Marxism---"you can't use this product, the creator is a counter-revolutionary!"

But, yeah, these people join Mastodon instances thinking that they're all there is as far as the fediverse is concerned. Because Eugen, the admins of these larger Mastodon instances, and the active users of these Mastodon servers themselves have gone to considerable length in blocking out the rest of the network and marketing everything so that Mastodon is the end all and be all of the fediverse. I really do get vibes from the entirety of the Mastodon communities that they essentially despite the rest of us.

This recent wave of Twitter users joining the fediverse, however temporary their stay, has demonstrated just how damaging the mainstream normie or Western NPC idealogue can be to the native ecosystem here.

Fediblock is wildly abused by bad actors or otherwise "misused" by people recommending blocks of entire instances over the bad behavior of a couple individual users. This is horrible advice.
