@theorytoe@phnt@gabriel yeah, but that's what I'm talking about. Due to the reasons the projects worked, it kinda makes sense gitea would still be bigger and have more resources available.
But unfortunately, in the case of Funkywhale, yeah, I guess you are right, a fork would be a very small project that would probably die soon as most users and devs would still flock to the original. The reason is because most people don't give a fuck about principles, and they would only care if a change affects them directly, which gives margin for these retards to get in and introduce their bullshit everywhere.
@theorytoe@phnt@gabriel but forgejo/gitea situation is a bit different, isn't it? By what I understood, people got icky with gitea because it got turned for profit or something like that and got associated with a company. So it makes sense gitea has way more resources than forgejo has and was able to replace the devs who left.
@deprecated_ii@sickburnbro you know the OP in that image is a retard who knows nothing because most of the time "spent" while making cider is just waiting for fermentation to happen, so you can do whatever else, it's not like you need to keep watching it. It's just a matter of being smart and efficient with your time.
I was born in a city of Italian migrants in a cold area, and around here many older houses (including my mom's) have a wood fire oven like the one pictured. It does double duty heating the house and also working as a regular cooking oven that cooks things very slowly. This, coupled with cast iron pans, can allow you to literally spend the entire fucking day cooking g something, and it's the "trad way" of doing it since the migrants came here in 1862. My mom still makes food like that, but she doesn't need to spend any more time than the prep time, she puts the pans on the oven and goes do anything else meanwhile.
I think the problem is that younger people are retards.
@lina@RustyCrab I don't think Windows was ever "liked". People have been crapping on it since the 90s, and have tolerated it just because it actually worked for normies. Microsoft is not a "sexy" company, so no one made any excuses for it and always lambasted its monopolistic practices and the problems in its products.
Google, on the other hand, from its inception until the 2010s, was absolutely loved by everyone. A search engine that actually worked, the "do no evil" motto, the insanely cool for the time tools and sites that were absolutely free like YouTube, Drive, etc. Heck, they even had a pretty successful social media, one of the first that existed, Orkut, which was widely used before Facebook took over that market. Then, one day they flipped the switch and leveraged all the trust people had put into it to collect the data of everyone and basically become a monopoly in the "serving ads" space. And no one had seen it coming because everyone was absolutely enamored with the company.
It's pretty crazy how the public's perception of a company works.
@lina@MK2boogaloo@syzygy if the GPU doesn't have a video signal even while booting, it's not a driver problem. Either the GPU is fucked, or the Motherboard slot is fucked. But he already tried with another MB, and the other GPU works fine, so this GPU might be fucked.
What I would try would be another PSU. Sure, the GPU may not need a six pin power connector, but maybe the PSU is not delivering enough power for the RX560, but is delivering enough power for the other GPU.
If that also doesn't work, then I'm sorry, but the 560 is dead.
@lapin the top 3 in my list are idle games with thousands of hours in them, but they don't really count because they just keep running on the background and wasting computing power, it's not that I ḿ actively playing them.
@BronzeAgeHogCranker@Aether@SuperSnekFriend can recommend Bazzite. Been using it for the last week, and it's pretty "fire and forget". It incentivizes you to use containerization for the user applications, either with actual containers or with things like Flatpak, and I found out that Flatpak hate is unfounded.
I'm having some problems with Wayland due to my Nvidia card, but the X11 session is rock solid. I just hope Nvidia gets their shit together before Fedora 40 (and, subsequently, Bazzite) gets rid of xorg.
I just think I wouldn't recommend it for people who want to keep fiddling with the system, installing and testing different WMs and DEs, etc, as these atomic distros aren't made for that.
