@tchambers yesterday I saw someone on Bluesky commenting about how 10 years ago Twitter had been the place to go for the truth about the protests in Ferguson. Compare that to the protests in LA now and there's no truth to be found on Twitter.

Anyways thank gods the open social web is around at this moment.

@tchambers @kamalaharrisforpresidentnews to be fair, the courts HAVE spoken. He's been found guilty by a trail of his peers, this isn't really a comparable scenario to 2016. All that's left is the sentencing later this fall.

@dansup what lead to the change and what were you using before?

@killyourfm so far I have resisted watching this because the main character looks just like a guy I went to college with... who ended up becoming a chef. The resemblance has just been too uncanny!

@drq @tbernard You don't need to 'cease to exist' just stop trying to endlessly grow. The idea is called "Degrowth" and generally speaking its that you first seek to reduce to sustainable level and don't grow for the sake of growth (something that is pretty much anathema to capitalist system that runs the world). From there you focus on growing in ways that can be sustainable over the long term.

@evan mostly I suppose I'm wondering what the benefit of VC funding vs something like a traditional business loan. I imagine there's less FINANCIAL risk in VC money at the expense of other potential influences.

This was all in the early 2010s right? I'm sure the environment has changed a lot since when too.

@evan for a company building out standards what was the appeal of venture funding compared to other funding methods? I think it's the "expectation" of massive returns that is the massive turnoff (at least to me)
