Slowly but surely inviting more and more of my frens to Bluesky, saving them from Xitter :3

Mastodon doesn't work for any of them, unfortunately. But that's fine, Bluesky ain't that bad right now, much much much better than the dumpster fire that is Xitter

@Gargron on Bluesky and on Twitter, no, thanks to their fancy algorithms, you just go to Discover and find all the cool thighs, the closest we got to this here is with Explore. Of many people I listened to, many don't want to bother with looking for follows, and even if they do, the federation aspect was really getting in the way, like dealing with URLs is hard, some servers don't federate w/ each other, profiles being empty because no backfilling, etc.

@Gargron I've been reading a lot of what different people (especially people of influence) been saying about Mastodon, and checked on Bluesky, and, that's the conclusion I come to. Mastodon seems to have failed to capture the two waves of Twitter escapees. Twitter somehow still exists and many don't think of leaving. Bluesky is growing and it feels much lively than Mastodon, and resonates with a lot of people leaving Twitter. So ugh, things are looking kinda bleak, but that's my perspective.

Quite saddening thinking of the fact that Mastodon is going to stay the Linux of the operating systems, Firefox of the web browsers. I don't blame Mastodon for that, and frankly these things that I mentioned are good to have, it's just the conditions and the way society is, that I don't see Mastodon being anything more. People couldn't care less about values Mastodon is built with, and they rather endure malpractices than give up on the convenience.

How can you alienate the audience on your site so bad that they wish you to ‘eat mud and die or something already’? Ask Matt, the CEO Automattic, who is currently in charge of Tumblr!

@soundwarriorBR I might assume that due to influx of users there might be performance issues on mastodon.social.

You can wait until it's fixed or you can try migrating to a different server that's hopefully less loaded, you will *not* lose your ability to communicate with anyone else on the network!
