@killyourfm Yeah, add that and I'm out. I don't know *anyone* who would say "yeah, that's what I want!". I know plenty who will nope out, though. OOT indeed.
@killyourfm Have you had a look at Evercade? I really enjoy it as a way of getting plug and play physical versions of games from a variety of platforms - both new and old titles.
Looks like it's time to find a Google Drive alternative. This will eventually affect clients I use. What's the good word on an affordable 2TB cloud drive?
@killyourfm My biggest pet peeve is it used to actually be a decent enough launcher. Then they decided to do some deals with game streaming services and now you can't just have it show all your installed games by default and never show their bloody partner crap.
@killyourfm You hit the nail right on the head in terms of my thoughts. I just feel like the C128D and A1000 are really cool pieces of hardware - and emulation won't replace that aspect. The other part of the equations is time taking its toll and that's what is pushing me to get rid of it - as well as to declutter and my lack of time to actually use the devices. I'm keeping my A1200 and CD32, though. I love those too much.
About to try to sell a tonne of my old hardware and games this weekend. I wonder if it will be worth it / whether I'll regret it. Logically, I shouldn't since I haven't had the energy to turn some of it on for years, but... sale regret made me collect hardware in the first place.
It's just about over for this t-shirt, as it is now starting to fall apart, but for a t-shirt that was possibly the most derided online joke in #Amiga history and expected to be complete vapourware, it actually held up pretty well once it surprised everyone by actually showing up. I guess it must be 20 years old by now. Oh, and hi! It's-a me!
The UK really have the pluggiest plugs, don't they? I still have some things I bought from the UK before they decided they were better off without money from mainland Europe, and whenever I get the adapters going, it's almost comical how huge they are. (I know why - no need to explain)
@thanius Not sure about where you are, but here there is a distinction between an analog copy (inherently lossy) vs digital copy (not necessarily lossy) - regardless of the quality of the latter. Analog recording from digital is OK. Digital recording isn't.
@avrin@thanius I agree. But we know that's not the main reason why they track. If this were some small hobbyist site, I'd believe the intent were different, you know?
@avrin@thanius I just use Consent-o-Matic to automatically configure the minimum possible amount. The browser blocks third party cookies and now and then I flush. The issue pops up when 1Blocker works its magic on HTML-views that otherwise don't have full extension support. In a full browser window, I could have temporarily disabled content blockers and let Consent-o-Matic do its work. As it is, I just don’t go back to sites that have nefarious designs like this, but private mode is a temp fix.
Been using computers since they were 8 bits. Generally like those and 16 bits better than what we use today. Have too many games and too little time. Playing around a bit with Linux these days - both on Pi and as desktop and on Steam Deck. Always used and loved the "wrong" platforms, so you'll see me talking fondly about things like Amiga and Dreamcast with zero shame. I try to keep politics to a minimum and just have fun on here - but no promises! No QT.Also: Currently learning Japanese.
