@thanius Let me get back to you on that. I've only done some preliminary testing as I am still configuring a lot, but performance, at least, seems pretty great out of the box with Musashi.
Finally got myself a #Pistorm32-lite for my #Amiga 1200. It's strange how almost all of the guides and articles out there are focused on the super-fast but less finished/compatible Emu68 while good information on Musashi took me more time than setting things up and putting the hardware together. Of course, part of the reason is the Discord curse with a jumble of relevant and outdated information. Gawd, I loathe Discord for projects.
@thanius Between that, 68k.news, frogfind.com and The Old Net, old computers have become a lot more fun to put on the internet. I think I'll explore browsing from a Pi Zero :)
Since it seems like the web is breaking down all around us, here is a tool to make things a little more bearable when your venture outside the 'verse: https://libredirect.github.io/download.html It will intercept and redirect you to a privacy-focused version of the site you've landed on or been linked to.
@killyourfm@gimulnautti It was wanting to stand out on radio. "Louder = better". Just like commercials would turn it up to 11, you could do the same with music once the cd format was popularized. You generally can't get away with compression to the same extent on vinyl because on a CD you just have 1 and 0 while the needle and the groove need to actually move to the extremes (try looking at a compressed sound wave and imagine having a needle track through a miniature of it).
@killyourfm@cdp1337 It originally launched on 720p platforms. Perhaps running it that low helps a bit? Otherwise, it was famous for being great with a controller before Diablo was.
@killyourfm I'll not spoil the details for you, but I actually found that the standby power usage when not doing anything at all was far worse than the couple of hours I actively used my gaming rigs.
@killyourfm Well, I guess I am really just curious about a model number or similar. Maybe a store link. Don't go out of your way, though. I just like to look at gear - and think I may get a set for myself at some point.
Been using computers since they were 8 bits. Generally like those and 16 bits better than what we use today. Have too many games and too little time. Playing around a bit with Linux these days - both on Pi and as desktop and on Steam Deck. Always used and loved the "wrong" platforms, so you'll see me talking fondly about things like Amiga and Dreamcast with zero shame. I try to keep politics to a minimum and just have fun on here - but no promises! No QT.Also: Currently learning Japanese.
