@piecritic This got me started on the right solution. I need both these location blocks, or I get a generic 410 response instead of my custom 410.html.

Anyone know how I can force nginx to reply with a 410 (or some other code) for a POST request?

I killed my Pixelfed server a while ago. I'm returning 410 from nginx:

rewrite . /410.html break;

return 410;

GET requests return 410, but POST requests return a 405. xoxo.zone as well as many other servers don't register this as a "failure" so it's still being hit all these months later. Can I force a different reply?

@ci8 It's the wild west out there. In Ireland, I suspect lots are imports that don't meet the rules, and many "e-mopeds" end up used by under-16s or ridden in the cycle lane in throttle-assist mode (both against the law here)
