I got one of those "unlimited movies" passes to a local cinema. I'll try and track all my movies in a thread. I'll probably fail.
I am generally uncritical of movies, mostly I just enjoy them on a surface level, so lower your expectations.

#UnlimitedMovies 1/?
The Wild Robot (2024) was gorgeous. I'll admit to crying a couple times (I'm a softie for the subject matter) but story-wise it played things very safe, and some of the critical scenes felt very rushed.
In some ways it felt like a dialogue-less short that they stretched into a feature-length kids movie. Still, it was sweet and very lush.
#UnlimitedMovies 2/?
Moana 2 (2024) was a bit bland. Maybe 1 song that was catchy. The mid-credits scene sets up a third movie, which unfortunately will probably not revolve around the Kakamora.
#UnlimitedMovies 3/? Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024)
Continuing the trend of only using my unlimited movies pass to bring my kids to the movies. :)
Jim Carrey more like Jim Carries This Movie! For real though, it was good. Very much follows the formula they set up in Sonic 2, but there were laugh-out-loud funny moments, some really good visuals, and a nice conclusion and set up for the next movie. I never did get used to hearing Keanu Reeves' voice coming out of a hedgehog.
#UnlimitedMovies 4/? Better Man (2024)
Decided to watch this after seeing a second trailer. I went in knowing zero about Robbie Williams, save that he's probably not a chimpanzee.
The movie felt absolutely magical at a couple points (the dance numbers after the record deal and with Nicole) but much of the movie is heavy, dealing with his struggles with drugs and drink, depression, and his relationships. The funeral will stick with me.
Haven't stopped thinking about it, in a good way.
#UnlimitedMovies 5/? Wicked (2024)
I saw it twice, it's great (the run time is a little long)
#UnlimitedMovies 6/? Love Hurts (2025)
Ke Huy Quan is a treasure. Excellent fight scenes and a really enjoyable B story.
The primary love story felt lacking, like it needed more backstory or something.
Not sure I have much to say about Marvel movies at this point. I also have not watched The Falcon and the Winter Soldier so I'm unsure how much the Sam Wilson character evolved in that show.
Wilson is a very likable character that isn't aiming for the Rogers "boy scout" vibe. He's not a super-soldier, he takes risks as Captain America and the movie explores that idea well.
I was surprised that both Eternals (2021) and adamantium featured.
#UnlimitedMovies 8/? Flow (2024)
Touching and nice to look at. Good to see a film go off the beaten path and find success. This one is interesting in comparison to The Wild Robot (upthread), which I'd still like to see as a dialogue-less cut.
#UnlimitedMovies 9/? A Minecraft Movie (2025)
Silly fan service. I laughed out loud more than once. Not much substance but I haven't seen a packed house audience so excited for a film, maybe ever? Tons of kids and teens yelling out their fave lines. Maybe go during a school day if that's not your jam. :)
#UnlimitedMovies 10/? The Amateur (2025)
A satisfying performance from Rami Malek. He balances the different aspects of the character well, and you really feel his heartache over his lost wife.
Some of his technical feats are over the top in a way that broke my immersion. Suffers from a couple weak/distracting plot lines but they're blessedly short.
#UnlimitedMovies 11/? Sinners (2025)
So good it hurts. Watched it last night, had to go back and watch it in IMAX today. Not a frame went to waste.
#UnlimitedMovies 12/? Thunderbolts* (2025)
I enjoy this band of misfits. Felt a little lost, not having seen the The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, or Hawkeye, or Echo.
I think they tried something new with this one, and it worked. More of that, please, if we're going to continue to have superhero movies forever.
#UnlimitedMovies 13/? Isle of Dogs (2018)
One of my fave Wes Anderson flicks. I feel very lucky to have caught this on the big screen. It's *so* visually dense, it blows my mind.
#UnlimitedMovies 14/? The Surfer (2024)
lol what the fuck
#UnlimitedMovies 15/? The Phoenician Scheme (2025)
Another solid Wes Anderson film. Exactly what you would expect visually. The three main characters are great together and I enjoyed how he handled the father/daughter relationship.
#UnlimitedMovies 16/? 28 Years Later (2025)
This one had some really interesting editing choices in the first act. There were a couple tonal shifts but I think they serve to elevate the final product. Act 3 hits hard. Great film. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boots_(poem)
@ciaranmak Like usual, it makes me want to rewatch a few old favourites and catch some of the recent ones I missed.
@annika Watched this over the weekend, quite strange and funny
#UnlimitedMovies 17/? Superman (2025)
Felt pretty fresh compared to the dour DCEU. Corenswet makes a good man of steel.
#UnlimitedMovies 18/? Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)
Amazing visual design on this one, really great retro-futurism. I found it a really cosy watch with very likeable characters.
#UnlimitedMovies 19/? Tenet (2020)
Just fuck me up, Chris Nolan.
#UnlimitedMovies 20/? Interstellar (2014)
I cri evrytiem
#UnlimitedMovies 21/? The Long Walk (2025)
I liked this a lot more than I expected. Wasn't really on my list but my son suggested we see it. It's much more a thriller than a horror movie as I've seen it called some places.
It's such a simple premise, banal on the surface but terrifying once the reality of the march sets in. You want to root for some many of them but in that "battle royale" tradition, the whole idea is that only one survives. There's a lot of heart in this movie.
#UnlimitedMovies 22/? Weapons (2025)
It was alright. I'm not much of a horror buff. Had a couple good creepy bits and the jump scares got me. The slow build from the perspective of many different characters leads to a satisfying climax.
@annika it was so good!! I went in knowing nothing and was delighted.
@Heathersabrina The first couple jump scares totally tricked me into thinking I was watching clown horror. And then that final jump scare in the basement :cryblood:
@annika I do love a weird horror movie tho.
@annika me too! I dont like jumpscares in my horror but for some reason these bothered me less than usual. Maybe it was hust me.
#UnlimitedMovies 23/? Good Boy (2025)
Extremely creepy. Makes you feel like you're a dog for 72 minutes (that's not the creepy part).
Got a dog? Go give them some love. They deserve it.
#UnlimitedMovies 24/? One Battle After Another (2025)
Hard to know what to say about this one. I think it hits too close to home given the state of the world. The acts of resistance and solidarity are almost inspiring. That they aren't probably betrays a broken part of me.
One of the best car chase scenes I've ever watched.
#UnlimitedMovies Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere (2025)
I accompanied my Mom to this and ended up loving it. Tender and heartfelt. Jeremy Allen White's Springsteen is a sympathetic character I couldn't help rooting for. Solid supporting cast, too.
#UnlimitedMovies 26/? Predator: Badlands (2025)
It's the jokiest Predator movie I've seen. Probably necessary so we give a crap about Dek for multiple movies. No complaints about the fight scenes though. Thia's fight alongside REDACTED was pretty great.
