Well, I knew this day was coming, and it has arrived: I got hit by a car riding home from pottery. #BikeDC #BikeTooter

(I'm fine, but my hip hurts where I got sideswiped.)

I was biking through my least favorite intersection (New York Ave. and Montana NE) which doesn't have a bike lane. Maryland driver in a big hurry either didn't see me or thought he could get around me. Swiped me from behind. Didn't even slow down. (I didn't fall -- just kept on going.)

Anyway, I guess I'm a real biker now.

Nothing like biking on city streets to turn you into a car-hating radical.

(OK, let me revise this statement from last night. Don McLean has other songs, known to Don McLean fans on Mastodon, but folks who aren't necessarily Don McLean fans probably only know him for "American Pie.")

(I wouldn't consider myself a Don McLean fan, but I am a fan of "American Pie," so I apparently need to listen to "Vincent.")
