@stark @evan Cuban sandwiches are popular, but if they’re associated with a town, it’s Miami or Ybor City. Crab is ubiquitous, and stone crab is pretty Floridian, but I’m not sure there’s a crab dish that’s especially local otherwise.

@cwebber Be that as it may, being a solo composer and performer who sometimes collaborates with a handful of people is orders of magnitude less complex than running an international company with thousands of employees and a global supply chain. So I’ll give Steve-O a bit of grace when it comes to the overbubbling of workplace stress.

@evan I dunno man. I’ve my battleship sunk on this one. I once had a friend ask me if I ever thought about whitening my teeth, and I was, “why are you trying you make me in your image?” And her (honest, heartfelt) response was, “If someone told be about something I could improve, I’d want to know!”

I walked away thinking differently about those kinds of interactions.

@kfogel @evan for me the answer is the same for any group: let’s the people most impacted lead, and support them.

@dalias @mttaggart I’m saying the text of the GDPR is intentionally broad and could be read that way by regulators. Mozilla has more potential exposure than an average FOSS developer, which may be why they’re taking a conservative approach to that risk.

@dalias @mttaggart that’s really not relevant to the text of the regulation.

@dalias @mttaggart GDPR Art. 4: “‘controller’ means the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data….” App publishers are (imo reasonably) interpreting this to apply to apps that deal with personal info, because the app developer arguably “determines the purposes and means of the processing.”

@mttaggart as I read it, you give them a limited license to use that content as needed to do what you’re using Firefox to do. I.e. if you’re uploading an image to a website, you authorize them to do so as you directed.
