Given #Meta have a habit of building up tracking profiles on non-users, it's a bit disingenuous to say that #Mastodon users who federate with them won't face privacy issues...

@thomasfuchs Oh, there! Fedilab 2.x breaks the spec and fetches them anyway and the latest version has a button to do that, so I rarely have that issue, but I can see how it causes problems for most users...

Unfortunately, under the current system, pensions are funded retroactively (?) by the next generation, so a falling birthrate means the bottom falls out of the system and there's no money to pay for the elderly anymore (hence why they increase retirement age to offset it). It's not a good system, obviously, but it's easier to manage than the alternative...

@thomasfuchs The difference is that we can fairly safely ignore the blockchain-nuts as they don't really directly make life worse for others outside their field, but AI spreads misinformation.
