Does anyone use #AlpineLinux on the desktop as a daily driver?
If so, why, and what's it like?

#TIL about RadioDroid!
Neat program!
I wish I had done it six months prior.
One year was a too long to wait.

Reading this feels like a fever dream:

1.2GiB RAM for Signal desktop on a fresh bootup.
This is not the way.
If you're in the US, hamstudy.org is great prep for the test.

Forgive me, but the hashtag needs to be #KTHxbai 🤣
Sorry, just some random circa-2007 internet sillies still working its way through my nervous system. 😆
How the heck is JS lighter than Perl?
Get the pitchforks and torches! XD
P.S. What the crap, Rust is #2? Have they ever tried compiling rust?!? It requires its own nuclear reactor!! 😄
I figured, but man, that's annoying.
It's one thing if it's compiled "once" and run a million times, but when compiling it yourself is the only option (like in the case of a lot of minor projects), rust is decidedly *not* environment-friendly, I don't care what the hype machine says.

Relative: Amazon Prime
Me: (Oh shazbat.) Umm, forget it. You'd have to pirate it, first.
Relative: I ended up just turning on closed captioning.
Me: Yeah, that's about the only option in that case.
At the lunch table:
Relative: Is it possible to reduce the volume of music in a video to make the speech more intelligible?
Me: Well, maybe?
Me: (Looks up ffmpeg options, sees that there's a bandpass filter with examples for speech boost)
Me: Actually, yes! I can even batch-convert it.
Relative: Oh, wonderful!
Me: Where's the video at? Youtube? That's not too hard to get a copy of. (Thinking: please not facebook)

Someone still uses GNUStep!! :o
Can any neovim experts tell me how to change the ':set spell" colors?
Typos have a bright pink/red background and punctuation errors have a bright green background, and they're both pretty hard to read with my terminal color scheme.
I tried all of the colors schemes that come with neovim, and none of them changed the spelling highlight colors.
I'm on NVIM v0.7.2 on Debian Bookworm
I'm a total vim noob (24 years and counting, lol)
I have no idea where that is set.
Yes, KDE Plasma Discover, thank you so much for notifying me that I have updates ready the second after I run `apt update` and the second before I run `apt upgrade`.
Your vigilance is appreciated. 😄
Some appliances make assumptions of what is hot and what is neutral.
And especially when there's no grounding plug, you might have hot AC on the outside of a metal appliance. Especially old toasters.
Utilities throwing dotfiles/dotdirs under ~ are the 2020s *niX equivalent to 1990s/2000s DOS/Windows programs putting directories directly under C:\
Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
20 years ago, I was blown away with the smoothness and stability of Linux while doing intensive tasks.
Today, on fairly recent hardware, my bluetooth mouse stutters while performing a backup (with nice +19 and ionice -c3).
Umm... what happened?
P.S. The bluetooth adapter and USB HDD are not on the same USB bus. I just checked ;)
