@valhalla OK, I see what you mean. Maybe it's me, not being a native English speaker, who doesn't know the exact meaning of "doing maths" (or "math", in the USA) @SteveClough
@thomasfuchs BTW we should forget about Watts. It's like changing currency, which is something we did in most of Europe a couple of decades ago. After a while you start thinking in the new currency. The old currency is the Watt (W), the lumen (lm) is the new one.
Dear #Fedilab (@apps), until now I have been recommending your #Android app, because it displays threads as what they are, i.e., trees. But I found out (the "hard way", so to say) that you do #markdown formatting and HTML removal, neither of which are done by the standard #Mastodon web UI or the Mastodon Android app. IMO, this is simply not right. Not even if you made it optional. A post/toot should not be seen differently depending on where you see it. This is not an enhancement, it's a mistake
@Jdreben I wouldn't say that this is the main reason why we see the wavelengths between infrared and ultraviolet. It's not a coincidence that the peak of the sun's emission lies approximately in the middle of that range!
@apps The main problem with Google Translate is that it often (always?) uses English as intermediate language, which means that if neither your source nor your target language are English, you much too often end up with nonsense
software developer (with a degree in physics – but that was long ago). I publish in English and Italian (currently more in English), + German, French & Spanish occasionally (mainly in answers). I dream of a better world, where we can fight pain, discomfort and poverty, instead of fighting each other.Erdős number: 4 ;-)
