@SmudgeTheInsultCat My problem is that I use C#, and we have to make InternalsVisibleTo. Which made her throw up.
Anyway, she replied "Ya Basic" so then I could Friend her.

@AnarchoNinaWrites Both of them dying before November might be the best option.
@n0madz @SallyStrange @bookstodon
10 authors, of whose books I've read at least five:
Terry Pratchett
Douglas Adams
Iain M. Banks
John Wyndham
JRR & Christopher Tolkien
Isaac Asimov
Neil Gaiman
Robert Jordan
I am now struggling. There are quite a few others who I have read a few of, but I cannot get any more that I have read more than 5 of!
@clacksee @bookstodon Starship teapot book? I am in the UK.
It sounds weird, which is exactly my bag.
@ryanc @aris But if you do threat modelling properly, you do that. You identify the sort of people who might want to gain access.and why.
I see your point about making them easier to understand, but I worry that they can be too simple.
Also so often, a threat model identifies areas of threat. The threat actors can and will change. Security dev always needs to be flexible and changeable - in weeks/months, not years.
@AnarchoNinaWrites Just stop calling it a crisis and then it is solved!
It is a manufactured situation situation, so un-manufacture it.
@thomasfuchs 90 quid!!!!
I would so like to read it, and am surprised I didn't find it in my research time (when I could have borrowed it from a library!).
Maybe I will find it second hand somewhere at a reasonable price.
@Geri And she pretty well did, I think.
Unlike the Westminster mob.
@MadeyeTheCarnaptious I do hope they are both OK. The last thing we need is more royal funerals to distract us from what the 1% are doing to this country.
@me I did have an identity on Twitter which was ItMe for a while. So I obviously had to follow you here.
@HistoPol @MaJ1 @DoubleTreble @weirdfolks Tim is a techy. We use acronyms like water.
We do not explain them.
We do not document them.
We happily change the meaning of them over time.
We gleefully reuse acronyms to mean completely unrelated things.
(I have worked in the medical field and now am in publishing. I swim in acronyms. Sometimes I drown in them)
@DoubleTreble @HistoPol @MaJ1 @weirdfolks Deep Clean a washing machine?
So, you get a washing machine washing machine and set it on "deep".
Regular maintenance - cleaning filters and checking outlets - that makes sense.
@dgar I was foing to do one about Cobalt, Flourine and Iron, but then I went to get a CoFFe instead.
@aral Totally. He doesn't want lords and peasants. He wants lord and peasants.
@sinabhfuil I can see how this idea arose - some people are there just for monitoring. That could be done remotely.
Except if anything happens, they need treatment - that is why they are being monitored.
When you understand the implications, it is obviously stupid.
@sinabhfuil @kinyutaka @korreckj328 @Nazani @CultureDesk @bookstodon Abraham was prepared to sacrifice his own son. Lot offered his daughters.
Jephthah - the first thing that comes out of my house to greet me I will offer to the Lord: It was his daughter.
@kinyutaka @dsmoore @sinabhfuil @korreckj328 @Nazani @CultureDesk @bookstodon I believe that the Bible story is one of progressive revelation. And that Abraham didn't see it as wrong to sacrifice his son (it was not that uncommon at the time). But he needed to learn that this was not, in fact, what was needed.
The story is one of understanding that this practice is vile and unacceptable. But told in terms that show it was not understood as that.
@MaJ1 @evelynefoerster @PixysJourney @dgar @Rana @countcol @ruperttherabbit @HistoPol @pathfinder @SurrealSeal @Pierrette @SilverRainbow @DoubleTreble @niamhgarvey @jacqui76
I am totally worthy.
(Of course I am not worthy of being in the company of these amazing people).
@Watty @skyfire101 @NormanDunbar @MaJ1 @PaulNickson @evelynefoerster Believe me, SHE has had her revenge.
@acdha @rsynnott @LauraLangdon @mekkaokereke @bluejekyll I really try not to assume that everything stupid from the US is racist in origin. I want to think that there is a broader discussion there, more nuanced issues and debate.
But so often it is racism. To a degree that we don't see in the UK (I cannot say about other European countries). We have our issues of racism here, but not to the degree that it seems to fundamentally underlie every discussion there.
