Turns out that our light fixture is fine, I just replaced the bulb that stopped working (with no signs of broken parts when shaking it) with another bulb that wasn’t working (also with no signs of broken parts when shaking it).
Thanks, Edison!

Related, can anyone recommend a brand of high-CRI (95+), high-brightness (150W equivalent) LED bulb? If such a thing exists.
Please only recommend products you personally use, I know how to use Google.
@thomasfuchs i'm not aware of any high cri a19 compatible bulbs :( i have a couple of the cree lighting 125W equivalent, but it's cri 90 (I think it might actually be a bit higher in reality, they've always been conservative).
i do use a few of the centric a21 which are amazing... but also not dimmable (which is much less amazing) https://store.waveformlighting.com/collections/a21-bulbs/products/centric-home-flicker-free-a21-15w-led-bulb
@petrillic the meh CRI with LEDs seems like such a weird technological step back into the, well, dark ages
I guess most people can’t tell their food suddenly looks green ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@thomasfuchs
BTW we should forget about Watts. It's like changing currency, which is something we did in most of Europe a couple of decades ago. After a while you start thinking in the new currency. The old currency is the Watt (W), the lumen (lm) is the new one.
@waltertross Tell that to horsepower :)
@glent they don’t sell dimmableLEDs with more than 60W equivalent (less than half the brightness I need) and they have only 90 CRI.
@thomasfuchs Philips have been good. It's a soft recommend as the US models can differ from the models in Aus.
I may have to source an incandescent bulb for this because apparently LED bulbs that are dimmable, bright and have good color rendering don’t exist. 😛
