Hi @pfefferle - If you prefer an "official" support request , I'll do it...
Been "playing" with various firewall options (AIOWPS), to be able to receive AP comments from Mastodon to my blog. The only guaranteed way (@ 4AM) is to totally disable the plugin... Good for communication, bad for security...
Question: Is it possible to reply to a comment received via AP on the blog?
@feditips@MarkLAnderson As explained, depending on the configuration of the ActivityPub plugin (mainly, the custom post-template), the content that will be visible from a post on Mastodon can be the full text (without linked URLs, embeds...) or an excerpt only.
@feditips@MarkLAnderson Well, that's not always true, depends a lot on your settings, and the kind of rendering you want to show in the TL, content or excerpt (via custom template in post-content).
@Jain@janeadams emojis are a good example, as depending on which sets were uploaded to an instance, they might appear or not... or have different names ( :fedi: or :fediverse: don't both render everywhere). There are many differences between platforms (software), and even inside the same platform, servers can be patched or modified for different use cases.
@janeadams@Jain you're welcome. Well, that's the demonstration of what the Fediverse, based on ActivityPub at least (which has flaws too, of course), is. DIfferent platforms are able to exchange info via a communication protocol. As an example, my WordPress blogs, equipped with the ActivityPub plugin, are now part of the Fediverse too, and are seen as instances ("servers") you can subscribe to, see posts (automatically published) and comment, just like you would "normally"...
Crypto is not the key to Black generational wealth Cryptocurrency investing is more likely to widen the White-Black wealth divide, studies show
“Crypto investing is extremely high risk,” Algernon Austin, director for Race and Economic Justice at the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR), said during an interview about cryptocurrency investing and building Black wealth. “As an investment, it’s closer to gambling.”
@pfefferle@jeremy non, no, just not showing, only the form to post new ones appear, not the old comments. After removing Webmention (tried to disable/enable, modify options and save... purged cache each time), they reappeared. When switching to 2023, with Webmention, they were there...
This is on my AMF site. On WWW, with same theme and almost same config, they didn't disappear, BUT "coincidentally" I didn't "play" with Jetpack core...
@jeremy@pfefferle No, those comments existed long before, since the creation of the site (imported from a Google+ forum I managed when it died !!!!). Been using 2020 theme for quite sometime. Webmention was added a long time ago too, when I installed ActivityPub and so on... Today, when playing with Jetpack "code" module, I "coincidentally" saw that comments had disappeared. As I had the other problems, I removed all plugins, but comments didn't came back. After a few tests => Webmention
Hi @pfefferle - just sent a support request to the main Jetpack plugin page, as there seems to be some "conflict" (on 2 of my blogs) with ActivityPub...
The cryptobros are all in the P2P game, pushing their so-called stablecoins AFAIK, today a lot of P2P apps use USDC, and many are now pushing towards a "satoshi" economy in Play2Earn, Learn2Earn, payments & remittances to put BTC at the forefront and we know there's a big incestuous relation with Tether underground...
@llewelly@atomicpoet@Sarahp@fediversenews Indeed, when Jaaaaack went to the Afro Bitcoin Conference in Ghana last December, it was to push his "OpenSource" vision, but mainly Bitcoin (via his venture with JayZ, ₿trust) and TBD (his Web5 vision "Making a decentralized world accessible to everyone" - @TBD54566975 on :birdsite:). With his support for Nostr, in full BTC maximalist mode (via Lightning interconnections), he's in full Web3++ mode
