@dansup however if he continues to rule the household, you will end up living in his kennel. There is no such thing as equality in dogs - only hierarchy. And if you’re not sleeping above him you’re not in charge.
@Infoseepage your last sentence is unquestionably the most important. Soon after the 1707 Union the King of Spain supported a rising and in 1745 it was the King of France. But having lost one battle Prince Charles Edward Stewart certainly did not believe it was all over. This is the letter he wrote to the king of France after Culloden.
@Infoseepage i’m glad you think the fortress was a deterrent. Perhaps consider the ethnic cleansing that was carried out by the British Army. You’re right, London did get a fright. Prince Charles Edward Stewart’s Army only lost one battle - Culloden.
“the system will practically exclude those with mobility issues, force further displacement, expose thousands of people to harm, make aid conditional on political and military aims, and set an unacceptable precedent for aid delivery around the world.” https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gep705527o
@hellomiakoda@TheVulgarTongue@histodons you can’t own it, it’s a wild animal. It might make friends with you. It might come and visit you in your house. If you have raised it from a chick, it will play with you and regard you as it’s parent. But it’s still a wild animal, and it will leave as all children leave their parents, only coming back occasionally to show you their offspring.
@lanodan@notjustbikes don’t be drawn into measuring it by kilometre because that just favours combustion engine travel. That’s why the aviation industry use per kilometre statistics because it makes them look very safe due to the very large number of kilometres travelled, but passengers are really only interested in whether they are going to get there or not. They do not sit on the plane counting the kilometres .
@Wen@CloudyMrs The majority of public transport radiates out from population centres. More difficult to get from Westhill to Peterculter than Banchory to Aberdeen city. Granted it takes longer to attend an appointment that’s not in the same village, but I can see the logic in having it in the centre of Aberdeen.
@CloudyMrs regardless of the hype, I don’t think it will be the liberals. But I do think there is a serious possibility that the SNP could become kingmakers.
@CloudyMrs funny you should mention it, but motorways are the only roads built with an integrated cycle lane. So maybe cyclists should be allowed on motorways, on the hard shoulder?
