    @baldur The people who are convinced LLMs replace developers are the same people who always get mad when I ask questions like 'what would you like the system to do if two people share a phone number' or 'okay, what's the definition of Person Is Vaccinated - does country of vaccination matter, does vaccination brand matter?' or 'do you know that you can't extrapolate country of legal residence from dialing prefix? I'm happy to write it but I want to make sure you know that.'

    @baldur 'LLMs will give me some code without telling me inconvenient truths without asking me about edge conditions or definitions I don't care about' is the actual story here.

    None of them is usable by deafblind people, and all of them are difficult for people with cognitive disabilities. Meanwhile bots are excellent at solving them.

    @youronlyone Icon fonts also suck for voice accessibility, since they're unlabelled icons, and I don't know how to speak their accessible name.

    @joeyh @erebion @clacke @leyrer

    MS also uses UCEPROTECT as an RBL. UCEPROTECT is a blackmail scam. It lists every Linode & DigitalOcean IP as a spammer, regardless of whether *your* IP has ever sent spam, & offers to de-list you (regardless of behavior) for 89 CHF (about $100).

    No reputable email service should use UCEPROTECT but MS does & won't explain why.

    @henryk @erebion @clacke @leyrer Yeah, my server has such a small volume that we don’t even turn up a report on my Google postmaster administration page. I can’t use it because our volume is too low.

    @erebion @clacke @leyrer I run a server that's provided email to ~15 people for >20 years. The answer is if you do everything right with DKIM, SPF, & DMARC, & never allow spam or bulk email or relaying ever, & you are very *very* lucky, you will only have to open a ticket with microsoft to unblock your domain about 3 times a year, and *most* of your users' important email will deliver to gmail users.

    It's hell & it's gotten worse. MS & Google don't care about deliverability from small fry.

    @killyourfm Be brief, talk about what's relevant to you. Context is key; what do you care about in the image. If there's relevant text in the image, describe that. And don't put in info that sighted users don't know (ie. "me and joe at the lake last september" or "made with midjourney") captions should be in visible text, not in alt.

    I blogged the basic rules a few days ago:

    @nova I ublocked (tw|n)itter on desktop and put it in adult content filters on phone, and I'm _so_ grateful to you for having this be a place I can go when I feel panicked by having my skinner box taken away. ???
