@SuperDicq I think QR codes are flawed because they’re often used to try to computerize some aspect of normal life that should never have been computerized. One’s ability to move or view or do something should never be conditional on whether they can read a QR code.

Locking out 3rd party operating systems is exactly what they set out to do with secure boot and TPM but each of those got mostly defanged by pushback and standards bodies. Pluton is just setting out to finish what Macrosuck has been trying to accomplish all along.

It might work this time, or it might take a few more years but MS will eventually succeed at Apple-ifiying the hardware that Window$ runs on.

@digdeeper @amolith I remember seeing some article about a hypothetical augmented reality “adblock”. You would put on the glasses and it would automatically identify and black bar real world ads. No way would anything like that every get built and sold without it being taken advantage of for additional user tracking. Worst timeline.
