     PCs only became more useful after Linux and BSD became usable enough.

     Nah, Google and Apple would still have dominance on the market. Mobile GNU/Linux would simply become like desktop GNU/Linux. It won’t change the market share radically. Especially taking into account that mobile devices are different from PCs in that they are harder to mod.

     @cyberspook @mangeurdenuage I have a PinePhone, so of course I know that mobile Linux = desktop Linux.
     And I think the only reason Linux phones have a future is because unlike all the other 3rd OS's that tried, Linux phones never intended to compete with and challenge the big 2 (well, Canonical tried with Ubuntu Touch, but UBPorts took over and it's not their objective to compete), but rather they intend to co-exist for a niche market just like how Linux desktops have always been towards the big 2 on desktops.
     
     Yes yes, I know it's GNU/Linux, I just like to keep it simple.

     @mangeurdenuage @cyberspook My best advice remains to throw away your smartphone completely and use a real computer instead.
     This doesn't seem something 99% of the population is willing to do however.
     
     And the point of saying GNU/Linux and BSD is the OS, not the loycense.
     Would have said "GPLv3 and BSD" instead, which doesn't make as much sense in this context.
