    @BowsacNoodle @notabnormal The Lutheran Church of Australia also just recently voted in favour of ordaining women, so the damage is immense and I think people are looking to the lifeboats.

    @BowsacNoodle @notabnormal From what I've heard that seems to be the case but it's hard to be sure. The Seminary for a long time had a reputation for turning out conservative clergy, but there's been a lot of damage done between then and now.

    Beloved, it's Sunday again and the day after that Lutheran Church of Australia has officially voted in favour of ordaining women. Soon enough we will see the LCA follow ELCA and ordain not just women but troons and openly gay men.

    So say a prayer for the faithful currently trapped in Babylon, may the Lord protect His Church and provide a home for faith Lutherans in Australia.

    Come, now is the time for worship, go to church.

    @BowsacNoodle @SuperLutheran @Myles I want to respond very lutheranly but for you I will be serious.

    It's being allowed to happen because church leadership is either no longer Christian or has become ashamed of the Word and wants to appeal to the world. In a way I guess Rome is catching up to the Protestants now. Hopefully Rome has a way of correcting itself and removing progressive elements, if it can't then it'll be ground down like a city under siege.

    @ned One interpretation, if we're reading only from Daniel, is that it's Antiochus IV Epiphanes. A ruler who set up an altar to Zeus in the Temple and sacrificed a pig.

    However, since Jesus quotes the prophecy from Daniel it could refer to the then coming destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple or it could be referring to the Antichrist. Antiochus himself could still be a partial fulfillment with him prefiguring the coming Antichrist.
