@snacks@mia@lucy@evamik Usenet isn't really federated either. I use it every day (best source for media) but I can't run my own server and publish to theirs. There are some free Usenet services you can peer with but they're going to heavily filter which groups they'll send you articles from to lower their costs. If you wanted to receive all the binaries groups and you had the bandwidth/storage to do so I'm not even sure who to contact to get access.
@mischievoustomato we can just use IRC bro, what could you possibly need
- voice chat - threads - emoji reactions - inline media - a rich bot and webhook API - multi device support out of the box - chat history - search - channel and role management that isn't single letters that nobody remembers except us graybeards - logging in with a QR code - push notifications
@lain yeah they split off the snacks from Kellogg's probably because they needed to isolate the things that make money during recessions (snacks, because stress makes people want snacks and also cheaper than real food) from the products that don't make money when the dollar's shitting
@alda@ceresbzns So are we just going to destroy this dude's reputation and put him at risk of violence over a rumor? Is that what I'm to understand? Facts don't matter because you have Kurdish friends who did the math and figured he could have been the right age? Is this the standard we hold ourselves to know?
